History

Central Sheet Metal is a veteran owned business that has served the Twin Ports and surrounding area for over 100 years.

Otto Anderson started Central Sheet Metal Works Inc. in 1922.  In 1937, we became a Lennox dealer and have continued that partnership to this day.  Later, the business was purchased by James Peterson.  During that time, the focus was strictly on ship work on the great lakes fleet that would be serviced at Fraser Shipyards.  We continue to work with Fraser and the shipping companies directly.

In 1973, James Sislo became the new owner and president.  At which time we became more diversified into many different aspects of the sheet metal industry.  We expanded our commercial, industrial and residential work.  Our building burned in a fire on New Year's Day, 1990.  This fire led us to our current location at 1225 Ogden Avenue.  It has allowed us to make significant expansions with more than doubling the size of our shop facility to over 16,000 square feet.

Many changes have occurred since that move.  In 1997, Steve Sislo took over as the second generation owner of the family business.  Steve and his wife, Paula handled the administration of the business.   Steve's father and former owner, Jim, is always on hand to lend his many years of knowledge and experience.

In 2021 Steve's son Matt became the third generation owner  of Central Sheet Metal. Matt's grandfather Jim continues to lend his experience, and Matt's father Steve will continue to be a valuable part of the company moving forward . The three generations of family working together, make Central Sheet Metal one of the premier HVAC companies in the Twin Ports and beyond.  We're available to meet your needs.
